Testing the appliance

To ensure each item is passed and safe for continued use, we ensure a set of steps are adhered to when testing an item.

  1. A visual inspection of the entire appliance; its flex and overall body for signs of wear and damage, as well as opening up the plug and ensuring the correct fuse is within and all terminals securely tightened.

  2. Electrical tests of the appliance is next, whereby we use our highest standard and regularly calibrated machine to produce a Class 1 or Class 2 test and polarity (earth continuity and insulation resistance). If the appliance (such as a highly important hard drive or computer is requested to not be turned off, then a visual check only is made. The result are then submitted.

  3. Pass or Fail, the item will receive a small sticker, placed discretely if desired or in an easily observable location. Failed items are removed from service and reported to the site contact and anyone regularly using the item in question, or in charge of the room/department will be made aware.
